Job description

The Senior Quality Engineer role is part of the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering team at Microsoft, which focuses on enhancing the quality and performance of cloud hardware. This position is crucial for ensuring that products meet high standards throughout their lifecycle, from introduction to end-of-life. The team aims to improve operational measures related to hardware manufacturing and optimize cloud infrastructure. Requirements

  • Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree in the same fields AND 4+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in the same fields AND 5+ years technical engineering experience OR 12+ years relevant technical engineering experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the quality performance of products or suppliers.
  • Collaborate with internal counterparts, engineering teams, and suppliers to monitor performance and resolve technical issues.
  • Influence cross-functional partners and suppliers to ensure KPIs and metrics are met.
  • Manage quality issues and risks by containing, mitigating, and resolving top-quality issues.
  • Implement a robust supplier quality management strategy to ensure high quality standards.
  • Work with internal counterparts and suppliers to develop strategies for continuous improvement.
