The Data Center Mechanical Engineer at Google will play a crucial role in the design, construction, and commissioning of HVAC and mechanical distribution systems for data centers. This position involves collaborating with engineering teams to ensure compliance with design standards and local regulations while providing technical guidance. The role requires a visionary approach to optimize efficiencies and drive improvements in mechanical systems. The engineer will also manage site-level mechanical engineering issues and support quality assurance efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
- 5 years of experience in design, construction and commissioning of HVAC and mechanical distribution systems.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time as required.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical support to data center services and operations teams.
- Develop, implement, and manage the mechanical designs at the site level.
- Collaborate effectively with the Engineer of Record to respond to site-specific engineering Requests for Information.
- Work closely with the core engineering team to provide site-specific requirements during the development of the Basis of Design.
- Own and manage site-level power system issues during project execution.
