Job description

The Ads Monetization Algo team at Microsoft Advertising is focused on optimizing ad performance through real-time auction bidding and long-term auction design. The team employs algorithm development, optimization, and experimental analysis to enhance advertiser strategies and auction mechanisms. Applied scientists in this role will utilize various quantitative techniques, including machine learning and game theory, to drive improvements in both online and offline systems. This position directly impacts significant revenue generation for Microsoft Advertising.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years related experience.
  • Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related experience.
  • Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related experience.
  • Equivalent experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement bidding strategies using optimization and control theory techniques.
  • Prototype and analyze different auction mechanisms for specific product areas.
  • Oversee large-scale, long-term experiments to enhance marketplace health using advanced statistics and machine learning.
  • Develop automation algorithms for advertisers to improve their return on investment.
  • Implement methods for optimizing the marketplace at a large scale.
  • Create models for causal reasoning using AI, ML, and statistical techniques.
