Job description

The Product Engineer for ARM Servers, Storage, and ML Systems at Google is responsible for evaluating product designs and creating processes, tools, and procedures to support Google's powerful computing infrastructure. This role is part of the Manufacturing Operations team, which ensures that manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. The engineer collaborates with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to meet infrastructure needs and specifications. The position focuses on enhancing server and storage designs while ensuring quality and reliability standards are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in electrical devices, fabrication processes, test, design for manufacturing, quality, or reliability engineering.
  • Experience working with Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs), Contract Manufacturers (CMs), and suppliers to lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design for manufacturing efforts across teams to ensure server/storage designs, process, test, and quality standards are enhanced for production.
  • Lead and guide Subject Matter Experts to ensure the product meets our specifications.
  • Ensure manufacturing sites are prepared for product builds ahead of time and provide on-site support.
  • Work with the Product Quality Engineer to establish product quality and reliability goals.
  • Coordinate release of New Product Introduction (NPI) Bills of Materials (BOMs) into the Product Data Management (PDM) system.
