Job description

The Systems Development Engineer II role within the Analytics team focuses on delivering AWS cloud analytics services and improving customer experiences. This position requires innovative problem-solving skills and a strong understanding of systems design and operations. The team is dedicated to expanding analytics services and driving automation investments across AWS regions. Candidates will work closely with demanding customers to address their specific needs and ensure the best possible service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or CSSLP certification.
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience designing or architecting systems.
  • 2+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, and operating systems.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Experience with distributed systems at scale.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Build innovative solutions and expand services into GovCloud regions.
  • Influence technical strategy and architectural decisions within the team.
  • Contribute to ticket resolution and infrastructure improvements.
  • Lead teams to solve difficult technical problems related to AWS services.
  • Work cross-functionally to resolve contentious issues and harmonize views.
  • Develop, build, and operate AWS Agentic AI services.
  • Facilitate deep-dive troubleshooting and lead technical post-mortem discussions.
