Job description

Amazon Industrial Robotics is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to develop advanced robotics systems that enhance automation at scale. The role involves working with cross-functional teams to create adaptable automation solutions that safely interact with humans. Candidates will lead the architecture of complex systems and mentor junior coworkers while pushing the boundaries of robotics technology. Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 4+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of development experience in C or C++ within an embedded environment or with robotic systems
  • Deep understanding of Hardware-In-the-Loop methodology and experience with Matlab and Simulink Real Time
  • Master's degree in computer science or electrical engineering is a plus
  • 3+ years of experience developing embedded C applications using an RTOS and embedded Linux environments
  • In-depth knowledge of open source Linux-based development tools and architectures

Responsibilities

  • Learn and master multiple components including networking, safety systems, and sensors
  • Lead the architecture of complex systems and support junior coworkers
  • Explain technical progress and issues to project managers and non-technical leaders
  • Develop novel solutions and take measured risks in technology development
  • Participate in design discussions and brainstorm solutions to challenging robotics problems
  • Implement new product concepts and features
  • Write automated tests to validate new features and conduct live testing to debug issues
