Job description

The Principal Software Engineer role focuses on enhancing security within Microsoft's online identity services, which support various platforms like Azure and Office. The Identity engineering team seeks experienced engineers to innovate and deliver mission-critical services while mentoring junior team members. This position emphasizes collaboration across teams and driving improvements in infrastructure security for high-scale workloads. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Experience in driving AI (LLM/ML) based engineering solutions.
  • Experience working in cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of services for high scale and low latency with an AI First approach.
  • Innovate to make service deployment and maintenance efficient with excellent reliability.
  • Conduct in-depth triage, troubleshooting, and forensics across all facets of the cloud stack.
  • Drive infrastructure security improvements for mission-critical high scale workloads.
  • Mentor and grow a diverse team with a mix of senior, mid-level, and entry talent.
