The Network Development Engineer (NDE) role at Amazon Robotics Infrastructure Engineering focuses on building and operating networks that support Amazon Fulfillment Centers and delivery services. The team aims to create next-generation network products while automating processes to enhance reliability and reduce human intervention. The NDE will work closely with IT support teams and tackle complex challenges in a fast-paced environment. Requirements
- 1+ years of automation scripting experience using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl.
- 4+ years of experience in a network-focused hands-on technical role working with IP routing protocols and technologies.
- 4+ years of experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms to support IP networks.
- 4+ years of experience in a technical on-call capacity, responding to customer-impacting events.
- Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, and network security architecture.
- Experience with routers, server load balancers, and firewall vendor platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto.
Responsibilities
- Respond to monitoring system alarms and stabilize impact across the Amazon network.
- Troubleshoot network interconnectivity problems and hardware failures.
- Collaborate with internal teams to diagnose problems and restore device health.
- Escalate issues to external vendors for diagnosis and part replacement.
- Focus on customer needs in all change scenarios and execute changes safely.
- Identify automation opportunities in troubleshooting and administration tasks.
- Create and review documentation for processes and troubleshooting best practices.
