Amazon Web Services is looking for a Data Engineer II to enhance data capabilities for Sales Planning and Compensation. The role involves designing and building data solutions that support AWS field teams in delivering exceptional customer service. The team operates with agility and innovation, focusing on leveraging modern AI practices to improve data workflows. Candidates will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to drive data-informed decisions and insights.
Requirements
- 5+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL/ELT processes.
- 5+ years of experience with SQL for business intelligence analytics.
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
- 5+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with AWS technologies such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, and Lambda.
- Experience with non-relational databases and data stores.
- Experience as a data engineer or in a related specialty with a proven track record of handling large datasets.
- Experience delivering end-to-end projects independently.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust, scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using AWS-native services.
- Build and maintain data models, schemas, and storage solutions across relational and NoSQL databases.
- Develop, automate, and optimize metrics, reports, dashboards, and analytics workflows.
- Own infrastructure for data processing and analytics, including performance tuning and cost optimization.
- Leverage internal AWS GenAI services to prototype intelligent features and enhance data quality.
- Conduct rapid prototyping and proof-of-concepts to improve data collection and processing.
- Collaborate across teams to ingest, transform, and integrate data from diverse sources.
- Champion best practices in data integrity, testing, validation, monitoring, and documentation.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve system reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
