This role involves architecting and designing a new segment of accelerated servers for the AWS fleet, focusing on board-level architecture and component selection. The team is composed of diverse engineers and specialists dedicated to maintaining AWS's global infrastructure. Candidates will engage in cross-functional collaboration to ensure designs meet high standards of reliability and manufacturability. The position emphasizes continuous improvement and innovation in server technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in server, storage, networking, or large-scale distributed systems.
- 10 years of hardware development experience with a focus on system/server development in compute and/or storage server architecture.
Responsibilities
- Own server architecture, board design, and component selection.
- Make trade-off decisions balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Monitor production quality and analyze field data to inform future designs.
- Conduct design reviews with manufacturing partners to ensure designs scale to production volumes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver complete server solutions.
