Job description

AWS is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Mechanical Solutions team, which focuses on innovation in Mechanical Cooling and Controls systems for data centers. This role involves providing engineering support for Mechanical infrastructure products and collaborating with product development teams throughout the product lifecycle. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring product performance and reliability while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires hands-on experience in Mechanical and Manufacturing processes, particularly related to cooling products.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
  • 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission-critical facilities
  • 5+ years of experience developing Mechanical and/or Mechanical Cooling Products
  • Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings and specifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide Mechanical infrastructure support to AWS data centers
  • Collaborate with the product development team to understand product facets during development and testing
  • Review, update, and approve equipment submittals
  • Work with global mechanical equipment suppliers and manufacturers
  • Support operations including failure mode and root cause analysis
