Job description

The role is for a hardware engineer within the AWS Board Core Design & Services team, focusing on the architecture and development of next-generation server components. The team is responsible for system innovation in servers used by Amazon Web Services, ensuring high performance and reliability. Engineers will work with interdisciplinary teams to design, validate, and launch hardware solutions at scale. This position offers the opportunity to impact customer experience directly while working in a fast-paced and intellectually challenging environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • 7+ years of hardware engineering experience
  • Experience collaborating with the ECAD/physical board designer and able to review PCB designs with Allegro, CAM350, or equivalent
  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
  • 7+ years of experience with I2C, SPI, UART interfaces
  • Experience interfacing with thermal, mechanical, firmware and software teams during product development

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture and development of next-generation server components
  • Interact with an interdisciplinary team of engineers to design, develop, validate, and launch hardware solutions
  • Provide leadership in the application of new technologies to servers
  • Monitor and improve hardware reliability in data centers and platforms
  • Identify and develop simple solutions to complex problems
