The Sr. SoC Power Engineer role at AWS focuses on power analysis and modeling for machine learning accelerators. You will work closely with architects, designers, and verification engineers to optimize power consumption throughout the design process. The position is part of the Machine Learning Acceleration team, which develops advanced SoCs for AI workloads. This role requires a strong background in power analysis and collaboration with various engineering teams to enhance power efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- 6 years of experience with a BS, 5 years with an MS, or 3 years with a PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Expertise in power analysis tools like PrimePower or PowerArtist
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, or Python
- Good understanding of Physical Design, EM/IR, Power Integrity, and Thermal analysis
- Experience with RTL design using System Verilog
- Familiarity with EMIR analysis tools like Redhawk or Voltus
- Experience with Zebu Emulator platform
Responsibilities
- Conduct full chip power analysis and modeling at various design stages from RTL to gate level netlist
- Develop and maintain dashboards for tracking power consumption
- Collaborate with designers and architects to create vectors for IR analysis and power estimation
- Provide feedback to designers on strategies to reduce power consumption
- Perform power measurements in the lab and correlate results with simulations
- Work with emulation engineers to model chip-level power consumption
