Job description

This role focuses on building the backbone of Generative AI cloud at AWS, specifically in designing, delivering, and operating AWS cloud offerings for AI/ML and HPC workloads. The AWS Hardware Engineering team is looking for innovative self-starters who are knowledgeable across the full technical stack and have a strong interest in cloud scale. The position involves solving complex architectural problems and creating automation solutions that enhance productivity. You will work with a diverse team to ensure high performance and scalability in AWS infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems.
  • Experience with x86 architecture, ARM, and GPU/FPGA devices.
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical degree, or relevant work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development, systems development, SRE, or Resilience Engineering.
  • 7+ years of server systems debug experience.
  • Strong focus on reliability, scale, and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

  • Solve complex architectural problems and proactively identify deficiencies.
  • Write tactical code to solve issues before they impact customers.
  • Decompose difficult server system problems into straightforward tasks.
  • Create automation through agentic workflows and develop smart automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineers across the company to deliver next-generation AWS platforms.
  • Drive high quality and reliability into future designs for AWS Accelerated server solutions.
