Job description
Arcadis is seeking a Roadway Design Engineer to join their Roadway Team, focusing on the planning and design of roadway infrastructure projects. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative mobility solutions for DOT and municipal clients. The engineer will contribute to various projects including intersections, expressways, and interchanges. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on sustainable infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Minimum of 6 years of roadway design experience, including DOT projects.
- PE licensure with the ability to obtain MS PE licensure within 6 months.
- Proficiency in CAD software, particularly MicroStation and OpenRoads.
Responsibilities
- Assist in defining project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables for roadway design projects.
- Perform roadway design for Design-Bid-Build and/or Alternative Delivery projects using DOT standards and CAD tools.
- Develop detailed construction drawings, specifications, and design reports.
- Conduct geometric design including alignments, cross sections, and pavement design.
- Ensure compliance with Arcadis practices, client policies, and industry standards through quality control and technical reviews.
- Support project managers with client coordination, progress monitoring, and project documentation.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate design solutions and manage expectations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate design components.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and interns.
