Job description
The Emerging Technologies team at Apple is looking for a manager to lead the engineering team responsible for the control plane that powers proxy orchestration and security controls. This role involves designing and implementing proxy capabilities across various protocols, ensuring secure and scalable infrastructure. The team focuses on advanced network security features, including DDoS mitigation and real-time threat intelligence. The candidate will oversee the development of a Java-based platform that supports Apple's proxy ecosystem across on-premises and cloud environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with approximately 5 years managing engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of proxy architectures, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, and security principles.
- Experience building and managing mission-critical platforms or control plane architectures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of delivering complex, scalable systems in production environments.
- Programming experience in multiple languages, including Java/J2EE, Python, and Go.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering team responsible for the control plane powering proxy orchestration and security controls.
- Design and implement proxy capabilities and orchestration across protocols such as TCP, UDP, and HTTP.
- Oversee the development and evolution of a Java-based platform for secure configuration and management.
- Ensure reliable, scalable, and secure orchestration for mission-critical services across Apple.
- Manage projects with on-time delivery using Agile development methodology.
- Foster innovation and drive excellence within the team.
