Job description
The Wireless System Engineer role at Apple involves working on innovative wireless connectivity solutions that enhance user experiences. As part of a dynamic team, you will contribute to the integration and tuning of physical layer and RF systems for next-generation wireless SoCs. This position requires collaboration with various disciplines to ensure optimal wireless performance in Apple devices. You will be instrumental from the pre-silicon stage through to product launch.
Requirements
- Minimum requirement of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Hands-on experience in wireless system design, integration, or bring-up.
- Strong fundamentals in signal processing, communication theory, and OFDM systems.
- Preferred BSEE/MSEE with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience with wireless PHY and RF systems on SoC platforms.
- Strong understanding of OFDM and MIMO-based wireless systems.
- Knowledge of analog/RF impairments and their calibration flows.
- Proficiency in performance metrics such as EVM and sensitivity.
- Experience in multi-radio coexistence environments.
- Proficiency in lab equipment like spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
- Experience with programming languages such as Matlab, Python, Shell scripting, or C/C++.
- Experience with automation infrastructure development and related tools.
- Knowledge of wireless communication protocols like 802.11 and LTE.
Responsibilities
- Integrate and tune physical layer and RF systems for wireless SoCs.
- Collaborate with PHY algorithms, RF design, digital, MAC, and firmware teams.
- Ensure seamless integration and best-in-class wireless performance.
- Work on the bring-up and debugging of wireless systems.
- Utilize lab equipment to analyze and improve system performance.
- Develop automation infrastructure for traceability and repeatability.
