Job description

The role is focused on advancing wireless connectivity technologies within the Wireless Technologies and Ecosystems team. The candidate will work on cellular performance and contribute to the architecture, design, and improvement of new cellular technologies and products. This position involves collaboration with various engineering groups and vendors to enhance customer experiences with Apple products. The candidate will also engage in lab characterization and field log analysis to define performance metrics for wireless communication systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Experience in wireless communication protocols and systems.
  • Deep understanding of wireless standards including 3GPP 5G-NR/5GC, LTE, IP, and TCP/UDP.
  • Experience with 4G/5G network emulators and major infrastructure vendor equipment.
  • Strong technical background in 5G-NR/LTE/UMTS physical layer and protocols.
  • Experience in applying AI/ML techniques on real-world data sets.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and patent next-generation wireless connectivity technologies.
  • Collaborate across departments to craft wireless solutions that enhance customer experience.
  • Engage in lab characterization and field log analysis for cellular performance.
  • Define power and performance KPIs for wireless communication products.
  • Act as a liaison between technology and product engineering teams to ensure quality.
  • Evangelize 4G/5G technology across Apple's new product introductions and services.
