Job description

As an ASIC STA Engineer at Apple, you will play a crucial role in the design and timing closure of advanced SOCs for high-end mobile applications. You will work closely with designers to generate timing constraints and ensure that all timing requirements are met across various conditions. This position requires collaboration with multi-functional teams to resolve complex timing issues. Your expertise will contribute to the development of Apple's in-house 5G modem platforms and other innovative technologies.

Requirements

  • BS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Hands-on experience in ASIC timing constraints generation and timing closure
  • Expertise in STA tools such as Primetime and methodologies for timing closure
  • Strong background in constraint analysis and debug using industry standard tools like Synopsys CA
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Tcl and Perl/Python
  • MS degree and 8+ years of relevant industry experience is also acceptable

Responsibilities

  • Own timing closure for full chip and block level designs throughout the entire project
  • Generate block and full chip timing constraints
  • Ensure timing sign-off to meet requirements across all corners, modes, and conditions
  • Collaborate with various teams to resolve sophisticated timing issues
  • Implement improvements to existing methodologies and flows
  • Understand and apply low-power techniques including clock gating and power gating

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
