Apple Services Engineering is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high-caliber engineering team focused on modernizing the pricing and subscriptions platform for Apple services. This role involves driving the modernization of a large, established JVM codebase while collaborating with various teams across the organization. The Engineering Manager will combine technical leadership with people management, ensuring the team operates effectively and produces high-quality work. • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in engineering management.
• Deep expertise in JVM technologies such as Java and/or Scala.
• Experience with RESTful services, relational databases, and distributed systems.
• Strong system design skills with the ability to operate at both architecture and implementation levels.
• Proven ability to attract, hire, and develop strong engineering talent.
• Excellent communication skills across engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
• Strong judgment and ownership in ambiguous environments.
• Experience shipping AI/ML-powered features or integrating AI/ML into production systems.
• Experience with pricing systems, subscription platforms, or commerce/fintech domains.
• Experience partnering with Finance, Business, or other non-engineering organizations on data-driven decision-making.
