Job description

The role is focused on developing innovative camera hardware solutions within the Camera Hardware Engineering group at Apple. This team is dedicated to delivering superior camera hardware that enhances user experience across Apple products. The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to evaluate performance specifications and translate complex system architectures into electrical requirements. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of creativity and technical expertise to tackle challenges in camera technology.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience validating electro-optical, electro-mechanical, or mixed signal systems.
  • Experience with design of experiments or similar processes to troubleshoot or debug electrical problems.
  • Experience with scripting in Python and/or MATLAB.
  • Experience with measuring electrical components using instruments in the lab.
  • MS/PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering and/or relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with low-level programming and debugging for embedded development (C/C++) on MCU based systems.
  • Experience with PCB design and debugging for hardware platforms containing drivers, converters, PMUs, or high-speed amplifier ICs.
  • Experience with circuit design, schematic capture, layout, and component selection.
  • Experience with electrical design, integration, and validation of camera and/or optical depth systems.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with mechanical, optical, firmware, product/test, and camera systems engineers.
  • Evaluate performance specifications for camera hardware.
  • Translate complex system architectures into electrical and IC requirements.
  • Develop custom chipsets for imaging and sensing features.
  • Troubleshoot and debug electrical problems using design of experiments.
