Job description
The role is focused on mechanical design engineering within the Battery Engineering group at Apple. The team is responsible for creating innovative battery solutions that enhance energy efficiency in compact designs. As the NPI Mechanical/Product Design resource, you will lead the development of battery modules from initial architecture to production ramp. Collaboration with various product development teams is essential to push the boundaries of battery technology and improve customer experiences.
Requirements
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 15 years of relevant industry experience.
- Master's degree or equivalent job-related experience in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with 3D CAD.
- Ability to generate innovative designs with multi-functional teams.
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly, or statistical tolerance analysis techniques.
- Clear and concise communication skills for technical project status updates.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end mechanical development and integration of innovative battery modules.
- Design battery packs while optimizing collaboration with outside vendors and internal experts.
- Deliver product timelines effectively.
- Manage the design cycle from concept through mass production.
- Conduct design validation and characterization for high-volume manufacturing processes.
