Job description
In this role at Apple, you will manage the research and development, selection, and implementation of manufacturing processes for consumer packaging parts and assemblies. You will work closely with various teams to develop innovative solutions that align with Apple's product and environmental goals. The position requires collaboration with external and internal partners to ensure quality and process development for new product introductions. Your focus will be on leveraging manufacturing capabilities to solve complex problems and drive data-driven decisions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of work experience in manufacturing process development, manufacturing or product quality, tooling and fixture design, or automation development.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Packaging, or Chemical Engineering or relevant manufacturing work experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Design For Manufacturing concepts such as GD&T, Tolerance Analysis, and SPC.
- Demonstrated experience employing analytical tools to solve complex problems.
- Ability to learn, implement, and use statistical tools for data-driven decision making.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative solutions that enable Apple's product and environmental goals.
- Lead external and internal partners in process and quality development for new product introductions.
- Establish industry relationships and engage experts to push the boundaries of packaging innovation.
- Use high-quality data and analytics to drive decisions and influence cross-functional teams.
- Manage and coordinate new technology and material roadmaps for on-time product delivery.
- Collaborate with Product Design and Materials Engineering to leverage manufacturing capabilities.
- Demonstrate scalability of new materials and processes to internal teams.
- Collaborate with Industrial Design and Marcom to propose product specifications for mass production.
