The Vision Product Group at Apple is seeking a Sensing Systems Engineer to contribute to the architecture of next-generation AI hardware for augmented and mixed reality devices. This role involves designing and analyzing sensing system concepts while collaborating with various teams to optimize product design. • Master's degree in a relevant field such as Electrical Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics.
• 5+ years of work experience in system design, integration, and productization in Consumer Electronics, Medical, or Aerospace industries.
• Proficiency in one or more areas of sensor technology and sensor processing methodologies used in optics, camera, and motion sensing.
• Proficiency in statistical concepts and expertise in data analysis tools.
• PhD degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Hands-on knowledge of computer vision, signal processing, and machine learning concepts.

• Lead the definition of sensing system concepts for augmented and mixed reality devices.
• Explore the design space of sensor constellations and frame system-level trades.
• Collaborate with sensor module, hardware, product design, algorithm, and user experience teams.
• Optimize product design in terms of size, cost, power, and performance.
• Communicate complex trades related to sensing strategy and user experience.
