Job description

This role is part of Apple's Silicon Technologies group, focusing on designing and manufacturing high-performance, power-efficient processors and system-on-chips (SoC). The position involves product characterization and studying the impact of hardware on SoC performance. You will work closely with design, process, and test engineers to ensure product quality and innovation. This is an opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking technology that enhances user experiences across Apple's devices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of electronic engineering fundamentals and DFT concepts.
  • Experience in system level/mother board characterization and data collection.
  • Expertise in programming with scripting languages such as PERL or Python.
  • Familiarity with test equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Experience in board bring up, hardware design, and PDN noise analysis is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal team members and external suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis, characterization, and fault isolation to resolve root causes of issues.
  • Conduct correlation between ATE and different hardware setups.
  • Partner with design, process, and test engineers to implement corrective actions on products and technologies.
  • Define and finalize production screening guard-band specifications based on design intent and characterization results.
  • Perform statistical data analysis on mass data sets to establish test limits.
  • Complete yield analyses and correlation analysis for all levels of test insertions.
  • Support test time reduction related characterization activities.
  • Coordinate test-related activities and reviews with both internal and external groups.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
