Job description
The Camera & Photos Infrastructure team is looking for a Hardware Allocation Engineer to manage Apple devices used for quality assurance and development of iOS and macOS applications. This role involves overseeing the entire device lifecycle, from requests to distribution and recall. The engineer will forecast resource needs and analyze capacity constraints to optimize device utilization. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for collaborating with various teams to ensure efficient hardware delivery.
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with asset management systems and inventory tracking
- Familiarity with hardware lifecycle management, including procurement, lead times, maintenance, and retirement
- Project or program management experience
- Prior experience in a lab environment
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs without assistance
- Deep understanding of Apple's device ecosystem, including iOS and iPadOS
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Self-starter with the ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Ability to problem-solve and think clearly under pressure
- Willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Positive attitude and eagerness to engage with a large extended team
