Job description
As an SoC Firmware Engineer at Apple, you will be a key member of the Wireless SoC firmware team, focusing on hardware and system bring-up, drivers, and network stack support. This role emphasizes the development of embedded software for System on a Chip (SoC) testing and implementation. You will collaborate closely with the Software Engineering team to ensure high-quality firmware for manufacturability. Your work will have a significant impact on delivering functional wireless products to millions of customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Strong background in embedded software development using C and assembly languages.
- Familiarity with ARM CPUs and RTOS.
- Experience in performing low-level drivers and hardware bring-up on FPGA and SoC platforms.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.
- Experience with power optimization implementation and debugging in firmware.
- Knowledge of industry standards for wireless communications such as Bluetooth, WLAN, or UWB.
Responsibilities
- Craft and implement embedded software for System on a Chip (SoC) bring-up and testing.
- Work closely with hardware and SoC design teams to ensure effective integration.
- Develop low-level drivers and validate hardware functionality.
- Implement diagnostics and manufacturing tests for firmware.
- Support other teams interacting within the Wireless SoC group.
