Job description

The Swift Compiler Backend Engineer will play a crucial role in the ongoing development and management of the Swift backend. This position involves collaborating with various teams, including the Swift optimizer team and the LLVM team, to enhance the performance and functionality of the Swift programming language. The engineer will focus on improving the generated code and ensuring seamless integration across supported environments. A passion for compiler development and strong software engineering skills are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Drive improvements to the generated code for the Swift programming language.
  • Collaborate closely with experts in compilers, operating systems, processors, and development tools.
  • Work with the Swift optimizer team to ensure new optimizer concepts are correctly handled.
  • Assist the Swift runtime team in improving runtime reflection metadata handling.
  • Collaborate with the LLVM team to enhance Swift's usage of LLVM.
