Job description

The role is part of Apple's Mac Reliability Engineering team, focusing on ensuring the robustness and reliability of new Mac portables. Engineers will collaborate with hardware development and Silicon packaging to enhance product performance. The main responsibilities include leading board level reliability testing and developing new test procedures. The team aims to exceed customer expectations through comprehensive testing and failure analysis.

Requirements

  • MS in Materials Science, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field with 2+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Experience performing board level reliability testing including Mechanical Stress Tests, Shock/Drop/Vibration Testing, and Environmental Testing
  • Ability to use fundamental failure analysis methodology to derive root cause of failures
  • Knowledge of board level design, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and reliability best practices
  • Strong knowledge of Semiconductor package integration and reliability of passive components
  • Ability to apply FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) methodologies
  • Application of DOE (Design of Experiments)
  • Knowledge of industry test standards such as JEDEC, ASTM, and IEEE
  • Exceptional problem solving abilities and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Dynamic attitude with a desire to work in a team environment
  • Ability to travel internationally without restrictions
