Job description

The Apple Ads engineering team is seeking an experienced manager to lead a talented group of engineers in developing full stack, distributed systems software for advertising. This high visibility role focuses on architecting and delivering new capabilities for Search advertising products. The manager will work in an Agile environment, collaborating closely with product owners and other engineering teams globally. The goal is to improve and scale the advertising platform while ensuring high quality and trust for users and advertisers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on technology management experience
  • 10+ years of industry experience building scalable microservices and data-driven platforms
  • Experience building SDKs, platforms, and reusable components
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and hands-on experience with modern programming languages such as Java, Scala, or C++
  • Expertise in NoSQL datastores like Cassandra, Keyspaces, or ElastiCache
  • Proficiency in data processing technologies such as Kafka, Spark, or Flink
  • Experience building and scaling systems across on-premise and hybrid cloud environments
  • Strong technical leadership skills with proven experience in architecting, developing, releasing, and supporting mission-critical services
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms with technical and non-technical teams
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Distributed Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Prior experience in the advertising industry is a huge plus
  • Knowledge of Compliance and/or Finance would be an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers focused on architecting, creating, and delivering new capabilities to Search advertising products.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners to design, develop, and implement solutions.
  • Leverage open source technologies to build tools, frameworks, and components.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable distributed services to customers.
  • Work with peers and other engineering teams globally to support the core capabilities of the Search advertising ecosystem.
  • Partner with teams across Apple to deliver and support third-party integrations.
