Apple's RF System Engineering team is looking for an expert to define the next generation of Cellular RF Receiver architectures. This role involves architecting and delivering innovative wireless solutions for future Apple products, focusing on 5G and 6G technologies. Requirements
- BS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Understanding of Cellular Radio/3GPP Standards including UMTS, LTE, and 5G NR.
- Proven knowledge of RF receiver architectures and their impact on system performance.
- Deep understanding of cellular system use cases and RF/baseband interactions.
- Experience in system engineering with a background in DSP for wireless communication systems.
- Proficiency in hardware/software co-design and understanding of digital hardware and software trade-offs.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python or C++.
- Experience applying AI or ML to optimize engineering workflows.
- Familiarity with RFIC design and semiconductor processes.
- Knowledge of cellular modem architectures and associated algorithms.
- PhD degree with 3+ years of industry experience in RF, focusing on cellular receiver architectures.
- Proficiency in mathematical modeling and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Drive the control architecture and algorithms for the RF receiver.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, RF circuit design, and software engineering teams.
- Define and deliver solutions that enhance performance, quality, and implementation efficiency.
- Develop core technologies for wireless solutions in future Apple products.
- Utilize AI and ML to improve multi-objective optimizations.
- Build abstract system models leveraging control theory and optimization theory.
