Job description

The role is within the Architecture team of the Video Computer Vision and Video Engineering organizations at Apple, focusing on the integration of computer vision algorithms, firmware, and low-level software. The team is responsible for driving innovative programs across Apple products by co-designing algorithms and systems. Successful candidates will need to excel in collaboration and communication with various experts across multiple domains. The position requires a strong understanding of the complexities involved in algorithm performance and system resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant proven experience.
  • Validated ability to work in a multi-functional environment at the intersection of Computer Vision, Embedded Systems, and related fields.
  • Proven track record in developing and improving computer vision perception algorithms and ISP pipelines.
  • Demonstrated experience in optimizing computer vision algorithms for performance, power, and memory on embedded platforms.
  • Strong understanding of perception sensing technologies including cameras and depth sensors.
  • Breadth of knowledge in areas of computer vision including classical methods or machine learning.
  • Experience in translating high-level product goals into detailed feature-level architectures and system requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills to drive multi-functional efforts and present results to Apple leadership.
  • Experience in optimizing and fine-tuning ISP pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the integration of computer vision algorithms with firmware and low-level software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable co-design of algorithms and systems.
  • Articulate trade-offs between sensing solutions and their impact on algorithm performance.
  • Translate high-level product goals into detailed system requirements.
  • Optimize ISP performance under tight power and latency constraints.
  • Debug and optimize performance at the firmware or OS level.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
