Job description

As an RFIC Design Engineer within the Wireless Radio team at Apple, you will play a crucial role in designing and validating radio transceivers integrated into wireless SoCs. This position involves collaborating with various product development groups to innovate and enhance wireless connectivity solutions. You will work with a vertically integrated engineering team to push the boundaries of wireless technology. Your expertise will contribute to the development of high-performance wireless systems that improve user experiences across millions of products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Understanding of analog design concepts such as noise analysis, linearity, mismatch, stability, and other analog impairments.
  • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre RF, Matlab, EM simulation tools like EMX and HFSS.
  • Expertise in analog, mixed-signal, and RF circuit design, including LNAs, PAs, PLL/VCO/DCO/LOGEN blocks, mixers, and data converters.
  • Experience in silicon characterization and debugging.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a PhD with relevant industry experience is a plus.
  • Deep experience in bringing wireless transceivers into mass production is a plus.
  • Familiarity with RF transceiver architectures and their trade-offs.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and validate radio transceivers integrated into wireless SoCs.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to innovate new wireless technologies.
  • Transform improved hardware elements into a coordinated design.
  • Work with system architects to translate system requirements into circuit requirements.
  • Ensure optimal partitioning between digital and analog domains in design.
  • Utilize mixed-signal mode verification methodologies for design validation.
