Job description
The Answers, Knowledge and Information Team at Apple is focused on developing next-generation machine learning solutions for Knowledge Q&A, enhancing features like Siri, Safari, and Spotlight. This role involves leveraging advancements in machine learning and software engineering to improve user query understanding and document retrieval. Candidates will work on a search platform that impacts millions of users and will have the opportunity to shape future Apple products. The team seeks individuals with strong software engineering skills and applied machine learning experience.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience developing software.
- Experience working on both software development and building ML models.
- Experience developing software in Go or other object-oriented languages.
- Experience with utilizing PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX for training and deploying deep learning models.
- BS in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Data Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working on search ranking, relevance, recommendation or information retrieval.
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Data Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with cloud-native deployment (e.g. Kubernetes).
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous development solutions (e.g. Jenkins, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Leverage and improve upon the latest advancements in machine learning and software engineering.
- Understand user queries and intents to retrieve and rank documents.
- Generate helpful answers for user queries.
- Work on horizontal areas such as internationalization and safety.
- Translate product requirements into modeling tasks and engineering tasks.
