Job description

The Core Platform organization within Core OS is looking for a dedicated engineer to join the Quality Engineering team. This role focuses on ensuring the software quality of multiple projects that are essential for delivering new Apple Silicon. The engineer will collaborate closely with development teams throughout all phases of software delivery, from early design to product launch. The position involves developing tests and tools to maintain high quality standards for low-level software features.

Requirements

  • Strong C/C++ programming skills.
  • Strong Python programming skills with experience in writing test automation scripts and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with computer architecture and operating systems topics.
  • Experience in testing embedded systems and firmware.
  • Excellent collaborative and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Exposure to hardware bring-up and testing on early prototype devices.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the code produced by Core Platform meets high quality standards.
  • Develop tests and tools that cover low-level software features in Apple Silicon.
  • Work with partner teams to devise a testing strategy for each feature.
  • Create tests and test frameworks to monitor quality metrics.
  • Be involved in every phase of the development lifecycle for multiple SOCs.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
