Job description

This role involves being a key member of a small team of Mechanical Engineers focused on designing Apple's first wearable product line, the Apple Watch. You will collaborate with various cross-functional teams to develop innovative mechanical components for the device. The position emphasizes creativity in problem-solving and adapting to new technical challenges. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that the designs meet manufacturing and assembly standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in detailed part and product design.
  • Proficiency in CAD and understanding of GD&T.
  • Experience in plastic and metal part design.
  • Strong knowledge of materials and mass-production processes.
  • Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Application of statistical tools and techniques.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with overseas manufacturers.

Responsibilities

  • Define and design mechanical parts for the Apple Watch.
  • Collaborate with Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, and other teams.
