Job description

The Health Sensing HW team is focused on developing innovative health sensors to enhance customer wellness. We are seeking a sensor engineer who will contribute to the design and delivery of optical-based health features for Apple's wearable devices. This role involves collaboration with various teams to address challenges related to sensors and algorithms. The engineer will play a crucial role in developing solutions that enable advanced optical sensing capabilities.

Requirements

  • BS degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong software development skills with proficiency in Python
  • Knowledge of circuits and sensors
  • Familiarity with signal processing and health sensor design
  • Experience in firmware development and understanding of the HW/FW development cycle
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering, including noise modeling and integrated circuits
  • Experience with sensor interfacing, signal conditioning, and signal-to-noise analysis
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support health sensing features through sensor and algorithm development
  • Work on performance and power tradeoffs across multiple generations of hardware
  • Collaborate with internal and cross-functional teams to tackle sensor and algorithm challenges
  • Design and deliver optical-based health features for wearable devices
