Job description

This role is for a design verification engineer at Apple, focusing on producing fully functional first silicon for IP designs. The engineer will work on pre-silicon verification, developing methodologies, test plans, and verification environments. The position requires a strong understanding of verification tools and methodologies to ensure bug-free silicon. The engineer will also utilize LLM technologies to enhance efficiency and quality in the verification process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical subject area.
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OOP, SystemVerilog, and UVM.
  • Proven experience with verification methodologies and tools such as simulators and coverage collection.
  • Some working experience using LLMs for efficiency and quality.
  • Experience with power-aware (UPF) verification methodology is a plus.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL.
  • Some experience with serial protocols such as PCIe or USB is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Establish DV methodology and develop test plans.
  • Develop verification environments including stimulus and checkers.
  • Write tests, debug issues, and ensure coverage and sign-off for RTL freeze and tape-out.
  • Develop detailed test and coverage plans based on micro-architecture.
  • Implement verification plans including design bring-up and regression enabling.
  • Track and report DV progress using various metrics.
  • Develop block, IP, and SoC level test-benches.
