Job description
The User Secrets team at Apple focuses on ensuring that user secret data remains accessible only to the user through advanced encrypted data storage and recovery solutions. As an engineer on this team, you will work on systems that securely store, sync, and recover private data across all Apple products. You will collaborate with security partners to enhance server-based end-to-end encrypted data recovery. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to critical sections of iCloud's data synchronization systems.
Requirements
- A genuine passion for building effective, scalable, and useful tools for users to safeguard their most precious data.
- Exposure to and knowledge of OS security, applied cryptography, and key management.
- Knowledge of distributed consensus algorithms.
- Expertise in C programming.
- M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience developing for Trusted Execution Environments.
- Excellent collaboration and leadership skills.
- Ability to deliver proven work on tight schedules.
- Experience with Swift and Objective-C.
Responsibilities
- Advance the state of the art in server-based end-to-end encrypted data recovery.
- Collaborate closely with security partners from the operating system and hardware teams.
- Contribute code and security expertise to critical sections of iCloud's End-to-End Encrypted data synchronization systems.
- Ensure that users' secrets remain private and that data recovery is safe, reliable, and fast.
