Job description

This role is for a design verification engineer at Apple, focusing on producing fully functional first silicon for IP designs. The engineer will work on pre-silicon verification phases, including establishing DV methodology and developing test plans. The position involves creating a scalable and portable verification environment and ensuring bug-free silicon for parts of the SoC/IP. The engineer will also utilize LLM and related technologies to enhance execution efficiency and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical subject area.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OOP, SystemVerilog, and UVM.
  • Strong knowledge in developing scalable and portable test-benches.
  • Proven experience with verification methodologies and tools such as simulators and coverage collection.
  • Some working experience using LLMs for efficiency and quality.
  • Experience with power-aware (UPF) or similar verification methodology.
  • Knowledge of one of the scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL.
  • Some experience with serial protocols such as PCIe or USB is a plus.
  • Knowledge of formal verification methodology is a plus.
  • Knowledge of emulation for verification technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Establish DV methodology and develop test plans.
  • Develop verification environment including stimulus, checkers, and assertions.
  • Write tests and debug failures to ensure bug-free first silicon.
  • Track and report DV progress using various metrics.
  • Develop detailed test and coverage plans based on micro-architecture.
  • Implement verification plans including design bring-up and regression enabling.
  • Utilize LLM and related technologies to improve execution efficiency and quality.
