Job description

The ATG-Packaging group at Apple is looking for a senior process engineer to contribute to the development of innovative products. This role involves providing module assembly solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams and equipment suppliers. The engineer will focus on high-volume manufacturing processes for products like iPhone, Watch, and Accessories. The position requires creativity in solving complex problems and offers opportunities for international travel to factory partner sites.

Requirements

  • BS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience or MS/Ph.D. and 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proven fundamentals in materials, high-precision mechanics, and automated equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of adhesive technology and manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience in adhesive bonding and automated equipment for ultrahigh-volume manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with laser systems and laser material joining and processing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support sophisticated, high-volume modules for iPhone, Watch, and Accessories as the key module process engineer.
  • Provide leadership in module assembly processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with factory partners to develop mass production intent equipment, materials, and processes.
  • Communicate and conduct program phase reviews with senior management.
  • Travel internationally (10-15%) to factory partner sites as required.
