Job description
The role involves leading the security direction for Apple's products by defining architecture and overseeing distributed web services that enforce security policies. You will work within the Platform Architecture group, which connects hardware, software, and servers into a unified system. The focus is on safeguarding user data and maintaining trust in Apple's advanced consumer devices. This position requires collaboration across various engineering and executive stakeholders to drive continuous security improvements.
Requirements
- BS in EE/CE/CS or a related relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 20+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience with secure boot and establishing hardware roots of trust.
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying secure web services and scalable infrastructure for highly available applications.
- Knowledge of cryptographic principles such as symmetric vs asymmetric crypto and PKI frameworks.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Define the architecture for distributed web services that enforce security policies.
- Oversee the operation of security measures for the development, manufacture, deployment, and operation of Apple products.
- Analyze industry and regulatory trends to inform security policy direction.
- Communicate complex security concepts to senior executive audiences.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives across various teams including Infrastructure, Privacy, and Software.
