Job description
The role of Hardware Design Engineer at Apple involves developing prototype hardware systems that support Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Photography applications. You will work within the Data Collection System team, contributing to innovative design applications while collaborating with various hardware and software teams. This position emphasizes engineering excellence, creativity, and innovation in a dynamic and hands-on environment. You will lead deliverables to align with project goals and ensure thorough documentation throughout the design process.
Requirements
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant proven experience.
- Experience with processor peripheral interfaces such as PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, and high-speed serial interfaces.
- Strong working knowledge of Signal and Power Integrity and protocols for PCB layout and construction.
- Familiarity with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters.
- Experience with SOCs, microcontrollers, microprocessors (ARM), FPGAs, and camera electrical protocols.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware and software teams to define prototype hardware.
- Lead deliverables to align with project goals.
- Ensure thorough and precise documentation from concept to architecture and through manufacturing.
- Take designs from concept through manufacturing and testing.
- Perform mechanical assembly for quick prototypes and bring-up/debug and validate digital designs.
