Job description

As a DDR Silicon Validation Engineer at Apple, you will play a crucial role in the validation and characterization of advanced analog and mixed-signal embedded circuits within mobile SoCs. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, multi-functional team, directly impacting the development of innovative products. You will be responsible for executing electrical tests and automating data collection to provide essential design feedback. If you enjoy tackling complex challenges and want to influence the future of mobile technology, this role is for you.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Proven experience in DDR memory validation, characterization, or bring-up.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or MATLAB for test automation and data analysis.
  • Strong hands-on lab skills with test equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and BERTs.
  • Deep understanding of signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) concepts and measurement techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to debug complex silicon issues and drive root cause analysis.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams including Design, System HW, SW, and ATE.
  • Familiarity with SoC architecture and various on-chip interfaces such as JTAG and SPI.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive bench-level validation, bring-up, and characterization of DDR memory interfaces.
  • Develop and execute electrical tests to validate DDR memory performance.
  • Automate data collection processes to enhance efficiency in testing.
  • Provide crucial design feedback through detailed analysis and reporting.
  • Debug complex silicon issues and conduct root cause analysis.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
