Job description

The Spotlight UI team at Apple is responsible for creating the front door to every Apple device, focusing on enhancing how users search and interact with information across multiple platforms. This role requires an experienced engineer who can navigate both Swift and Objective-C, contributing to a codebase that serves billions of devices. The team emphasizes crafting polished and responsive user experiences while collaborating closely with various teams. The engineer will play a key role in translating engineering constraints into product goals and setting the technical direction for the team.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in both Swift and Objective-C
  • Deep knowledge of UIKit and AppKit
  • Experience with SwiftUI interop with UIKit and AppKit
  • Ability to write clean and testable code
  • Experience in incremental migration of large Objective-C codebases to Swift

Responsibilities
