This role is part of Apple's Silicon Technologies group, focusing on developing and enhancing sophisticated software systems for regression-testing silicon designs. The position involves ensuring high-performance and power-efficient processors meet quality standards through effective debugging and problem-solving. The candidate will collaborate with the CAD team and EDA vendors to incorporate new capabilities and resolve issues. This role is crucial for supporting Apple's chip design engineering efforts and enabling seamless user experiences.

• Minimum of a BS degree with 10 years of relevant experience
• Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing a system for regressing RTL
• Python programming background is required
• Experience with TCL or Perl is a plus
• Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning
• MSEE/CE/CS preferred
• Knowledge in Verilog and SystemVerilog; familiarity with VHDL is a plus
• Experience with Synopsys VCS, XCelium, or Modelsim
• Good communication skills are required
• Experience writing or maintaining a script or Makefile that builds a simulation model from RTL is a plus
• Familiarity with Verdi and/or Indago is considered a plus
• Knowledge of C and C++ is a plus

• Develop, maintain, and enhance existing software systems for regression-testing silicon designs
• Diagnose the root cause of complex problems and guide engineers in problem-solving
• Work closely with EDA vendors to incorporate new capabilities and resolve tool problems
• Implement new functionality to address emerging problems or optimize existing methods
