JobsiOS Frameworks Engineer - HealthKit
Job description
The role involves working as an engineer on HealthKit, which is central to health and fitness applications on Apple platforms. The team focuses on ensuring the security, efficiency, and growth of HealthKit while collaborating with various hardware and software teams. Engineers will have the opportunity to expand the functionality of the Health app and HealthKit framework. The position emphasizes maintaining user privacy and performance while integrating new health features.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Strong foundation in Computer Science fundamentals
- 2 years of experience working in Objective-C, Swift, C++ or similar high level programming languages
- Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures
- Experience in object-oriented architecture and design
- Understanding of systems-level concepts like multi-threading and interprocess communication
- Experience with debugging tools and performance tuning
- Knowledge of iOS programming and one or more Apple technologies such as Grand Central Dispatch, CloudKit, or XPC Activity/Services
- Strong communication skills, including ability to collaborate in a diversity of backgrounds and experiences
- Willingness to learn and improve, and also mentor and support other team members
- Highly organized, maintaining patience and composure to effectively operate within ambiguity
Responsibilities
- Deliver new health and fitness features for the Health app and HealthKit framework
- Design solutions for distributed health data storage and performance
- Integrate with operating systems and design APIs for delivery
- Collaborate across Apple feature teams and hardware teams
- Work with domain experts like doctors and fitness experts
- Engage with the third party developer ecosystem to enhance functionality
