Job description

This role is for a core member of Apple's CAD organization, focusing on next-generation electromagnetic analysis methodologies for advanced RFIC and multi-die designs. The position involves applying first-principles understanding of Maxwell's equations and field theory to develop and validate EM simulation flows. The engineer will work on modeling complex package structures and ensuring robust signal integrity across advanced packaging systems. This is an opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking technologies that power the next generation of Apple products.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement of a BS degree and 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one of Tcl, Python, or Perl scripting languages.
  • Experience in Electromagnetics analysis including extraction, timing, noise, simulation, physical design, and/or verification.
  • Hands-on knowledge of industry-leading Electromagnetics tools such as HFSS, Clarity, and ADS.
  • Experience in the development of large-scale software in a multi-tech, multi-user, multi-site environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support state-of-the-art Electromagnetic Finite-Element 3D solvers and Method-of-Moments solvers.
  • Streamline and automate SOC EM analysis CAD flow with ownership of the entire flow.
  • Support and collaborate with design groups on their Electromagnetics requirements for various post-layout flows.
  • Work side by side with EDA vendors and foundries for tool qualification, debug, and enhancement.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
