Job description

We are looking for talented Analog Mixed-Signal designers to join our high-speed SerDes team, which focuses on developing next-generation high-performance wireline transceivers for Apple's system-on-chip products. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create and execute state-of-the-art intellectual property that enhances user experience. Candidates will be challenged to innovate and tackle complex technical problems while ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency. This position offers an opportunity to learn about end-to-end systems and contribute to best-in-class designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Deep understanding of analog mixed-signal design with experience in high-speed serial links.
  • Experience in designing analog mixed-signal circuit blocks such as Bandgap, biasing circuits, LDO regulators, amplifiers, comparators, switched-cap circuits, ADCs, DACs, oscillators, and filters.
  • Knowledge of mismatch mitigation, linearity, stability, low-power, and low-noise techniques.
  • Experience with high-speed digital circuits and a solid understanding of digital design concepts.
  • Knowledge of Tx/Rx equalization techniques and circuits for high-speed applications.
  • Familiarity with CDR architectures and implementations.
  • Experience in Analog Mixed Signal circuit modeling and performance evaluation using tools like SystemVerilog, Matlab, Python, and VerilogAMS.
  • Hands-on experience in advanced CMOS technologies and FinFET technology.
  • Experience in lab testing of high-speed serial I/O and data analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of common high-speed SerDes protocols such as PCIe, USB, DP, and MPHY.
  • Skills in scripting and automation to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Work on the development of high-performance and high-speed AMS circuits used in SerDes PHY.
  • Evaluate different circuit topologies for specific product requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create block-level specifications.
  • Execute transistor-level implementation and behavioral modeling.
  • Drive mask design to implement layout views of designs.
  • Ensure IP views meet quality standards while working closely with SOC teams.
  • Communicate progress and discuss new ideas with peers and management.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
