Job description
The role is part of Apple's Camera/ISP Firmware team, focusing on developing and shipping advanced technologies for Apple products. You will work on core camera and image signal processing technologies, contributing to the design and development of features for image sensors and peripheral devices. This position involves collaboration with various teams, including Sensor Hardware and Machine Learning Algorithm teams, to shape future product roadmaps. The role requires a strong background in software development for device drivers and image processing.
Requirements
- BS degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency in programming, debugging, and designing within multi-threaded RTOS environments.
- Proficiency in C and C++ programming.
- Experience developing software for device drivers, including peripherals and controllers such as I2C, SPI, GPIOs, MIPI, and DMA.
- Experience developing software for sensing and actuator devices.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with a focus on efficient and reliable solutions.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver high-quality production-level software.
- Familiarity with image sensors, image processing techniques, and camera pipelines.
- Familiarity with digital signal processing.
- Knowledge of auto-focus systems and optical image stabilization technologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt and excel in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop features for image sensors and peripheral devices.
- Control camera peripherals such as image sensors, voice-coil motors, lens actuators, LED strobes, and power management units.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sensor Hardware, Silicon Design, and Machine Learning Algorithm teams.
- Shape the roadmap for future Apple products.
- Work closely with various teams including Silicon Design, EE, and System/Controls.
